MY HEART FOR CREATIVITY

From a very young age, I wore creativity like a family heirloom, given to me by my grandmother who was an artist. I picked up my first paintbrush at the age of 6 and fell in love with my career debut - an A5 canvas painting of Thumper from Bambi. I never believed that creativity ended with a brushstroke, that it was something you could live out in your career, your relationships and uniquely in your self-expression.

In the same breath, I grew up around a family where entrepreneurialism was like our lifeblood. My parents were always discussing the value of dream-building and problem-solving, that the responsibility of privilege was to go out and create opportunity. I had this instilled surety that there wasn’t anything else for me.

As a result, my business is the product of both these passions: celebrating creativity in everyday life and a heart for storytelling and entrepreneurs.

I received my BFA at the Michaelis School of Fine Art with a specialisation in printmaking. I use traditional illustration and hand-touched processes in combination with digitalisation to create the artful feel of an original piece with the quality and diversity that digital design affords.

I believe that the most important stories we tell come from the things that make us come alive. Howard Thurman so aptly mused this sentiment in saying, “Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
